Spectacular 180° view!
With all the concerns about travel and safety during Coronavirus, our mouths dropped open when we walked out onto the deck of Villas Stein. It's all about the views- ALL DAY LONG! From the most beautiful sunrises over the Pacific Ocean, whale watching from the pool deck, and fireworks in the evenings from local hotels, we were happy to shelter in place at this fine house. Ismael, the caretaker of the house greeted us at our arrival and took care of all our needs - from margaritas in the afternoons to a late run for forgotten toiletries, he made sure we felt safe and all of our needs met. Martha, our housekeeper, was quick and prompt cleaning our rooms daily that we hardly saw her, but we slept on IRONED bed sheets! The house is on a cliff in a Pedregal - a safe gated community overlooking the Waldorf . Even though the Waldorf boasts of its views, we felt like queens of the world overlooking the property. Caroline and William our hosts, were very responsive to all of our questions and flexible with requests with changing times during Covid. The house is surrounded by more modern homes, but we felt the colors of the house and vibrant landscaping captured the beauty of Baja California and voted to have the best views. We were delighted to "shelter in place" here for 5 days. It was so hard to leave and look forward to coming back to this beautiful point of paradise.

The Perfect Experience
This house was perfect for us. It fit 4 couples perfectly, in a beautiful quiet gated community close to town. Unbelievable location and views with a pool and Jacuzzi. What else could you ask for? The owner/host was incredibly helpful and nice and it all went very smoothly. Highly recommended.

Best View in Cabo
The view, pool, and location in Pedregal make this one fantastic home. Cant say enough about the view from poolside and the pics dont do it justice. Great place to stay for families and Ismael (caretaker) is there to assist with anything you might need. Caroline was wonderful to work with and made all the necessary arrangements available in a timely manner. Will definately rent this home again!

Incredible property in Pedregal
We had a fantastic stay at the iconic Villa Stein. None of the pictures can do justice to the incredible views you will enjoy. Bill and Caroline were very easy to work with, and Ishmael was tremendously helpful with anything you need, from reservations to laundry, cooking to fresh towels. Our four bedroom experience consisted of the entire first floor at pool level, which houses one bedroom. And then three one bedroom suites on the top level, all of which are private and my kids loved that. The sunrise each morning is life changing. You will love your stay here.

Amazing view, incredible pool, lots of privacy!”
I couldn't be any happier with this house! Caroline (the owner) was extremely responsive with questions about the property throughout the booking process and very attentive after we booked as well. She connected me with Claudia, the concierge for the house, who gave us all the info we needed and helped us book a personal chef service (DO IT!!!).
When we arrived, there were margaritas, quesadillas, and fresh guacamole waiting for us. The caretaker/groundskeeper Ishmael was very nice, helped with our bags, etc. Just a heads up - Ishmael is kind of "around" all the time, checking in on things. This wasn't a negative by any means - it was nice because he's there to help if you need anything - but I wouldn't plan on walking around naked!
The VIEW...I mean, the pictures nail it. It's an incredible view and you can enjoy the beach without getting sand in your suit! The pool is perfect and the fact that there's a swim-up bar... mean, that's just icing on the cake. A note about the pool - all the floats we brought with us had a green ring on them after just a little while in the pool. White swimsuits turned a bit green as well. I don't think it's a big issue, but I wouldn't wear a brand-spanking new swimsuit if you're gonna hang out in the pool all day.
There's a ton of privacy between rooms. Each room is separate from the common areas, so it's very private. OH! There are 3-4 different levels, so be prepared for a lot of stairs - I actually loved this, because you really won't want to leave this incredible house, so the stairs are the only activity you'll get!
Location: it's a very short drive to grocery shopping (Walmart, Costco, local stores). Getting in/out of the neighborhood takes about 5 minutes because it's up in the hills, but once you figure it out, it's not a big deal. (The neighborhood is gated with security.)
I can't say enough good things about this place - I would definitely stay here again!

We never wanted to leave this stunning property. The stunning location, views and pool bar were the highlight of our vacation. There is nothing comparable to enjoying morning coffee or afternoon margaritas from the pool deck overlooking the beach and ocean. Topping off the visit were the well appointed rooms and helpful staff - perfect! We'll be back!

Oh my gosh, completely amazing. A group of 6 very discerning women went for a 50th birthday celebration and could not have been more ecstatic with the Villa Stein. It offers the most amazing view and pool set-up imaginable . . . completely cantilevered off of a cliff . . . this cannot be beat! The online pictures were nice; however, the villa is much nicer in person. The rooms are modern and inviting. The layout of the various rooms was not apparent online. Three rooms are on the top level while the pool, hot tub and kitchen/living room/master bedroom is downstairs and accessed by an absolutely gorgeous outside walk. Don't let the stairs scare you. They add to the ambience of being on vacay and are adorned with flowers and a gorgeous scene of tropical trees blowing in the wind and the ocean. And the whales - saw them breaching almost every time we looked for them over a 5 day stay in February! Whales . . . right from your hot tub and pool! We literally looked at about 100 villas online before booking as we wanted the perfect spot for our hard-to-please group. We could not have been happier. I almost never want to return to the same place twice because there are so many amazing places to see in the world, but I would 1000% (that's right, one thousand percent) go back to the Villa Stein. It's divine - whether you want a relaxing quiet trip or whether you want to turn up the music and have a good time!

Great Family Retreat!

One of the best locations in Pedregal with unprecedented views of the Pacific and the end of the peninsula. I prefer the gated community of Pedregal to other communities near Cabo as it has better access to town and marina. The pool and outdoor space is fantastic, and larger than the pictures portray. We stayed for the thanksgiving holiday with family and two kids and the house is perfect for that. Staff was helpful and would recommend to anyone travelling to Cabo.

Outstanding Home, Service and View
Date of Stay - Oct 25, 2016
The house was beautiful and very well-kept. Ismael and Martha (house staff) were friendly and extremely helpful. The view from the patio was gorgeous. The house was close enough to the downtown scene so it was very convenient to go down and grab dinner and drinks, but far enough away so you could experience a quiet and peaceful night on the patio. I would highly recommend this house and will be returning myself.

Stunning villa, right on the very tip of the Baja peninsula. Whales blowing and breaching all the time. Bring binoculars! The local staff, Ismael and Martha were friendly and helpful but had a somewhat limited ability with English. No big deal. One piece of advice: if you have issues with steps (bad knees, arthritis, etc.) this place could be a problem. Absolutely gorgeous property, but there will be climbing and descending.

Perfect stay for an easy vacation!
From booking the villa with Caroline to receiving the security deposit back in quick time, the process was seamless. That's just to stay about management, staff of the villa was very hospitable.
The villa is gorgeous, we chose it for the unobstructed views of the Pacific as its furthest to the coast. Also the pool is a perfect size as we were 9 people. Was great to swim up to the tiki bar and have a drink made. We hired a chef for the weekend and everything was perfect. For the price and view, you can't beat it.
I will acknowledge that there a few steps to getting around the property as bedrooms are on different levels. You will need a taxi/car to get around, but that goes for any property in Pedregal.
Thanks for an amazing stay! Would recommend to anybody!

Exceptional Home and Phenomenal Stay!
My wife and I traveled with a group of friends (7 of us in all). This home was the perfect fit for us. The pictures don't do the home itself (or the incredible view) justice. Moreover, Caroline was incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. Eshmael and Marta (the onsite staff) really put our experience over the top. I cannot say enough good things about our entire experience, and we cannot wait to come back. If you're looking for a hassle-free experience and an incredible home, you've found it.

We did a ton of research to determine which house we wanted to rent in Cabo. As regular visitors to Cabo that normally stay at a resort, renting a house was new for us. There are a lot of options to consider when staying on Pedregal:

  • View of Pacific Ocean, Bahia San Lucas or both - No Pacific Ocean likely means no whale viewing. A view of Bahia may include a cruise ship from time to time.
  • Car rental or taxis to town - Cars make it convenient to move around and do lots of things, but hard to find parking; taxis are $20 per ride to town or more. How many guests help determine the size of the vehicle.
  • Ease of getting down the mountain by foot - It's fun to walk and sight see if you can walk. Villa Stein allows that.
  • # of guests - How many bedrooms do you actually need.
  • Dining in or out - Cabo prices are starting to resemble those you'd see in SF or NY. Staying in with a group is fun and affordable. One day we picked up fresh caught fish and grilled it. wonderful...
In our case we needed four bedrooms. We looked at lots of houses and based on timing (we wanted to see whales), decided on February. There are options ranging from a few hundred $$ to thousands of $$. We also wanted to cook in frequently and have a swimming pool, view and hot tub.
I wrote to the owner and we discussed a few items and agreed to timing. Caroline was very pleasant to work with.
The house is incredibly situated on a cliff overlooking the beach and close to the ocean. We literally saw hundreds of whales during our stay and it was captivating. Be sure to take binoculars with you. You have a view from all but one room in the house and from the main floor and patio, it includes both the Pacific and bay. You can walk to town in 15 minutes. It is also fenced with a lock and key, so you always feel secure. The kitchen was big and had great prep space. Good refrigerator, decent cutlery and a nice grill. There were a few quirks, but again, no show stoppers. There is also drinking water provided.
There is a house cleaner and butler that we rarely utilized, but for a fee, they can shop, cook and bar tend if you prefer; In our case, those were things we managed.
The rooms were all clean and spacious and include refrigerators (except the master which doesn't require one). There are ample deck chairs, although we could have used an additional umbrella. There is also a swim-up bar and a window in the pool overlooking the Pacific. There is also a nice outdoor bar to make drinks. It includes a refrigerator. The view includes sunrise every morning and it was always magical to watch the sun come up.
Overall: we all loved the house and experience we had. Even though we have a timeshare in Cabo that costs little, our preference will be to stay at Villa Stein. The owners are friendly and very accommodating and will do everything they can to make your experience better. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for reaching out. Everything about the Villa and staff exceeded our already high expectations. The recovery from Odile is impressive both at Villa Stein and Cabo generally. I can only begin to imagine the heartache and attention to detail that it took to so immaculately restore the Villa to pristine condition. Ismael and Martha were terrific and went above and beyond on many occasions particularly when finding/rescuing my friends prescription glasses ultimately from a Cabo taxi bringing us back from the Office. He is magic on the phone arranging just everything and making it all so easy to just enjoy the vacation! Thank you for an awesome experience.

Christmas in Paradise!
Villa Stein far exceeded my expectations. The Villa's architectural design is amazing and is well appointed. The view was spectacular! I took my family there to spend Christmas and the owners where sweet enough to have a tree and other decorations waiting for us. Owners were so easy and attentive to all my needs and questions before my arrival which made this week simply beautiful.

A group of 8 of us recently stayed at Villa Stein for a 30th birthday party celebration. We basically wanted a place that we could use as a home base, and then go out and do activities as we pleased. The house itself is amazing! With all the rooms and beds, everyone had their own space and room to make themselves at home. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils so we could do a little cooking ourselves (take advantage of the pre-stocking option - it's totally worth the price to not have to deal with stopping for supplies). The pool was out of this world!! We, of course, spent much of our time hanging around the pool and taking in the amazing view. The pool kind of sticks out from the cliff a little bit so you get unobstructed panoramic views of Pedregal beach, the rock, and watching the fishing boats leave the marina. I highly suggest you get up early to catch a sunrise. Also, the swim up bar was definitely taken advantage of... As far as location, this would be a great place to stay if you have rented a car, since it is a ways up the hill, however, our group of 8 didn't have a rental car and just called taxis to get us to and from the house, which wasn't a problem at all. We actually preferred the taxi method so no one had to worry about driving around/parking/etc. The on-site staff was also great! I was a little nervous about having staff members around all the time (just because I've never had that before), but they were so accommodating and nice. If we neededanything at all, we could ask them. Ishamel makes a mean margarita when you arrive, which was such a great way to start a vacation. As for booking, we had no trouble at all and everyone was very helpful while we went through the process of booking the house. Very professional and very quick to respond to the many questions I had about the trip. Our group had a great time at Villa Stein and would definitely stay there again the next time we head to Cabo.

"Paradise in Cabo!" - January 15, 2013
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at Villa Stein in the Pedregal development above downtown Cabo. The location is close to town and other activities but is secluded so you are able to unwind and enjoy the pool, jacuzzi and the spectacular view. The home is well appointed and the bedrooms are large and spacious. My kids loved the fact that their rooms were away from the master bedroom on the third level so they could get away from their parents when needed. I've been to Cabo tons of times but this is the first time that I could have just stayed at the house and relaxed. The pool is nice and has a window under water that allows you to see the entire beach below - crazy cool. The staff, Ismael and Marta, were great! The fish we caught was cooked to perfection and the margaritas were outstanding. Load up at COSTCO and you are all set. We look forward to returning to Villa Stein soon!"
